Employing Women in Technology Industries, Improving Digital Literacy, and Supporting Women Programmers in the FemTech Sector – these are the activities Business and Technology University will implement and support in cooperation with local and international partners under the countrywide initiative 5.0.
To support the above-mentioned activities BTU launched Coding School for Women in 2019. Several international actors are involved in the process including: US Embassy in Georgia, UN Women, Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency, Women for Tomorrow, Microsoft, Women in Tech and International Technology Centers Webiz & Strategeast. Coding School for Women responds to the 4th principle of the UN-developed weps: promoting women’s education, professional training and development.
Business and Technology University was established in 2016 as the first private high technological center in Georgia. BTU unites University, school, regional technological hubs, IT center, research center, AI, blockchain and cybersecurity labs. With 4000 registered students and more than 200 staff, BTU offers students innovation in learning by combining the two fields of business and technology.
With the support of BTU, the official representation of the international organization Woman in Tech has been launched in Georgia. In close partnership with WIT, BTU will implement a variety of projects and activities to create different opportunities for women in the field of technology.
