Business and Technology University (BTU) brings together the concept of 10 high-tech and innovative laboratories established within the framework of various initiatives and international projects:
XR and AI Lab – An extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence educational laboratory established at BTU in partnership with Zwickau University of Applied Sciences, with the support of DAAD and the German government. The lab integrates virtual reality headsets, AI-powered educational materials, and virtual learning resources developed by leading German specialists.
Lab 4.0 – This laboratory concept was developed by BTU within the framework of one of the largest EU-funded Erasmus+ institutional development projects, HEIn4. The lab focuses on developing high-tech solutions for business.

Apple-authorized training centers worldwide are required to deliver the highest quality education to both lecturers and students. Partner institutions are carefully selected based on Apple’s standards, including technological infrastructure, academic staff, course offerings, and facilities. This laboratory, established with USAID support, serves students, lecturers, and external beneficiaries by providing training, initiating projects, and sharing expertise in iOS and Android development.
Renewable Energy Laboratory – A platform for knowledge and experience sharing, enabling discussions on key challenges faced by companies in Georgia’s energy sector, along with relevant research and consultancy. Since 2022, a Jean Monnet module funded by the European Union has been implemented within the laboratory, focusing on energy security and sustainable development. Since 2024, an institutional development project in energy efficiency has also been launched.
Blockchain Laboratory – Within this initiative, training and capacity building are conducted in blockchain system development, along with its integration into organizational processes.
Cybersecurity Laboratory – Established in 2017, this laboratory has implemented various initiatives, including a Jean Monnet project supporting cybersecurity education in the European Union context.
Sustainability Laboratory – Established in 2023, the lab aims to develop educational modules and materials in sustainability, conduct scientific research and institutional development projects, support sustainable development of SMEs, and design a sustainability plan for the university campus.
Microsoft Laboratory – Created to support students and professors in acquiring modern digital skills and knowledge. The lab plays an important role not only for students but also for anyone interested in technology. Its goal includes contributing to the development of the BTU AI platform, creating AI-driven solutions, and engaging in projects related to cybersecurity, blockchain, and other innovations.
