The establishment of Business and Technology University (BTU) was driven by the aspiration to create a distinctive educational environment founded upon the exchange of scientific knowledge, innovative ideas, and emerging technologies; to showcase and strategically position Georgia’s intellectual and economic potential within global markets; and to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development through the cultivation of highly qualified human capital.
In pursuit of these objectives, since 2016, Business and Technology University has been implementing educational initiatives and academic programs that are unprecedented in the Georgian higher education landscape. The University’s strategic vision has received recognition from leading international organizations, and partnerships established with globally distinguished institutions have fostered a strong foundation of trust and enhanced BTU’s reputation within the international academic and professional community.
Today, artificial intelligence is fundamentally reshaping education, scientific inquiry, business operations, and labor markets worldwide. In response to these transformative developments, BTU aspires to become a university of the future—an institution that integrates innovative pedagogical approaches, advanced research methodologies, and state-of-the-art technological tools within a unified ecosystem. Our vision is to establish an educational and innovation hub that delivers personalized learning experiences to all individuals while serving as a center of excellence for emerging technologies, scientific discoveries, and innovation, both nationally and internationally.
As a forward-looking institution, Business and Technology University bears a responsibility to remain at the forefront of technological advancement and educational innovation. We are committed to ensuring excellence in teaching and research across a broad spectrum of contemporary challenges. Equally, we actively promote gender equality within the technology sector, support the enhancement of artificial intelligence literacy among underrepresented and vulnerable groups, and advocate for inclusive access to innovation and technological opportunities.
Since the founding of Business and Technology University, I have had the privilege of being part of the team dedicated to establishing an educational institution aligned with the highest standards of Western higher education. BTU’s institutional policies are firmly oriented toward integration into the European Higher Education Area and are guided by the Council of Europe’s recommendations and principles on the fundamental competencies and values that define educational quality and academic excellence.
The beneficiaries of the University’s educational mission are not only its students but society as a whole. Consequently, BTU assumes a distinctive responsibility to uphold and continuously enhance the quality of higher education through: active integration into the international academic community; the development of labor-market-responsive and future-oriented academic programs aligned with those of international partner institutions; the continuous enhancement of teaching and learning practices; the provision of advanced educational infrastructure and technological resources; the development of contemporary learning materials; the active engagement of academic personnel in scientific research; the sustained implementation of international professional development initiatives; the strengthening of collaborations with scholars, research centers, and academic institutions worldwide; the initiation and execution of problem-driven interdisciplinary research; and the systematic integration of artificial intelligence capabilities into teaching, research, and institutional operations across all academic and administrative units.
