Irakli Makalatia is a Doctor of Economics and an associate professor of the Business and Technology University. He has many years of working experience in the academic field. He has participated in various scientific conferences. He is an author of many scientific papers. Irakli  Makalatia teaches the following courses at BTU: Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics and Statistics for Business. He has prepared lecture materials: “Economic statistics (short course of lectures, e-version) St. Co-authored by Marshava and “Statistics of the standard of living of the population”. He has participated in various scientific and educational projects.
