Updated Concept for the BTU Library
How has the library been transformed in the 21st century? – Today, most libraries are equipped with modern equipment, especially at the Business and Technology University, where special library spaces are arranged. Here students can gather, prepare presentations, work on new projects and at the same time have access to a variety of literature. There are also common workspaces where students, academic staff and startups sit, work, exchange ideas and meet people from different professions throughout the day.
The BTU Library presents a new digital media library and electronic Toolkit project for students and professors. Media Library promotes an increase in interest in science among both undergraduate and graduate students.
Also, the BTU Library is supporting various literature-related projects that have been introduced in our country. It recently joined Banned Books Week and hosted Davit Gorgiladze’s webinar, which particularly interested the students.
In order for students to prepare interesting and valuable research for themselves, they must have access to scientific databases and be already familiar with the information on the research topic. That is why the library has given students and academic staff access to the databases of the world’s leading universities. These include: MIT – Technology review, Harvard business review, MIT Sloan management review, The Economist, Scopus, Cambridge University journals.
Although the library operates on a university base, it also creates programs for school-age children to develop technology skills.
This year, BTU introduced new library products for multimedia artists and programmers – Creative Lab/Design studio services.
Another interesting project of BTU is the panel discussions with the heads of libraries of other universities and other stakeholders on the introduction of current innovations and technological processes in libraries.
