The implementation of the new bachelor’s program in computer science and artificial intelligence is planned for the 2024-2025 academic year. The program’s accreditation is currently underway, which will enable the admission of the first cohort of students after the unified national exams.
The University of Business and Technology has been actively involved in artificial intelligence for several years and is undertaking numerous large-scale projects. Among these initiatives is the development of a bachelor’s program in artificial intelligence. The accreditation process commenced in December 2023 and is expected to conclude in spring 2024, with enrollment of 100 students planned for the first academic year.
Students in the program will have the opportunity to pursue a double degree. They will receive full funding to attend a German university for their final academic year, where they will obtain an international diploma in addition to the BTU diploma. Zwickau University of Applied Sciences is a partner of the University of Business and Technology in this endeavor. It is noteworthy that professors from the German university will be involved in the educational process for four years. Established in 1897, Zwickau University of Applied Sciences currently comprises eight faculties and offers 50 different degree programs.
In addition to the double degree opportunity, students enrolled in the Bachelor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence program will also participate in exchange programs, fully funded, in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and Lithuania.
Admission to the new bachelor’s program at BTU will be based on performance in the unified national exams. Applicants must pass exams in Georgian language and literature, English language, and either mathematics or physics. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be awarded the qualification of Bachelor of Computer Science.
The annual fee for the training program will be 2950 GEL.
Furthermore, BTU’s Microsoft Lab will provide international Microsoft certification to students in specific artificial intelligence modules.
