Global Startup Fund Summit is getting started
The annual summit of the Global Startup Fund is about to commence, offering an extraordinary opportunity for Georgian startups, innovators, researchers, students, and all interested parties. Scheduled for May 28-29 in Tbilisi, the event promises multi-million funding opportunities, one-on-one sessions with angel investors from Israel, a pre-accelerator, startup competition, insightful panel discussions, and masterclasses spotlighting entrepreneurship’s pivotal role.
Since 2019, in collaboration with Israeli partners, the Startup Foundation based at the Business and Technology University has been hosting this summit annually. Over the years, startups have secured funding exceeding a million dollars, and the event’s scale continues to expand. Collaboration with Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency, alongside other private and international organizations, imbues the summit with a vital mission: positioning the Georgian startup ecosystem on the global innovation map and facilitating local and regional startups’ expansion into international markets. Israel’s renowned startup ecosystem, often dubbed the “Startup Nation,” significantly influences Georgia’s ecosystem formation.
In light of this context, Hilla Ovil Brenner, an esteemed figure in Israel’s tech sector and a partner at Ariel Capital, as well as the founder of Yazamiyot, will be a keynote speaker at the summit. Named among the 100 most influential representatives of Israel’s tech sector, Brenner will discuss entrepreneurial activity against the backdrop of current events in Israel and shed light on opportunities for startup financing.
The annual summit of the Global Startup Fund receives support from Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency, with the main partner being the Embassy of Israel in Georgia. Additionally, the ongoing pre-accelerator within the framework of the Global Startup Fund is officially supported by the TBC program “Startuper,” with “Tether” serving as a supporter of the same pre-accelerator.
The Global Startup Fund and Pre-Accelerator receive support from MIT’s Martin Trust Center (MTC), as part of BTU membership.
