Project Status: Completed“Promoting Information Literacy in the Digital Environment among Women in Georgia” is another ambitious project by BTU, supported by UNESCO. The project aims to build an information literacy society by empowering individuals in Georgia, enhancing their computer literacy and information literacy skills. It promotes the meaningful use of technology and participants’ critical thinking abilities. Ultimately, the project seeks to encourage women in Georgia to engage with technology and improve their readiness for the digital transformation.
The project has launched a comprehensive digital literacy campaign, offering courses in Tech English, information technologies, and information literacy for Georgian and Ukrainian displaced women. Additionally, a network of project participants has been established to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote active communication, and ensure the initiative’s sustainability.
BTU is the only Georgian university to receive a UNESCO IFAP grant in 2022 and is dedicated to raising awareness of information literacy among women in Georgia.
