Nino Mikava
Nino Mikava is a Doctor of Public Health, Affiliated Associate Professor of Management at the University of Business and Technology and directs the Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) program. For years, Nino Mikava has been engaged in active pedagogical and professional activities. She is the founder and director of the healthcare management consulting company HEMACO, a consultant of the Kaizen Institute. She has 22 years of experience in senior management positions in the insurance and healthcare industries, and is a coach, mentor and trainer.
She is actively involved in scientific research activities. She is the author of more than 10 international and local scientific publications, speaker of 10 international and local conferences, participant of numerous scientific workshops, seminars, participant of 20 international professional development events, participant and researcher of various international and local scientific grant projects.
- Mikava supervises a doctoral student at BTU’s digital governance doctoral program within the framework of the following research topic: “Evaluation of Georgia’s medical provider sector in the context of effective implementation of digital healthcare strategy”.
Important activities of Nino Mikava’s scientific and international activities for the purposes of BTU’s digital governance doctoral program are:
Co-authorship of the conceptual document of the national strategy of artificial intelligence in the direction of healthcare;
Publication of scientific articles on the use of artificial intelligence in the field of healthcare;
She has 5 years of experience in research, training and consulting in the field of telemedicine. A telemedicine pilot study has been conducted in Georgia with the funding of the Israeli Embassy. In partnership with the telemedicine company “Ekimo”, 400 doctors have been trained by him within the current project and training of 1200 doctors in the basics of telemedicine is planned.
Annually presents the results of scientific research in the field of digital healthcare at international conferences.
In the role of principal investigator, she participated in two research projects funded by the World Diabetes Foundation, which focused on assessing the role and needs of digital technologies for effective diabetes management.
At the current stage, the impact and cost-effectiveness of technologies in the health care system are being investigated in terms of non-communicable disease management.
Important activities of Nino Mikava’s scientific and international activities for the purposes of BTU’s business administration doctoral program are:
- short-term visits to partner European universities (Westphalia University of Applied Sciences (Germany), School of Business and Economics (Latvia)) within the framework of Erasmus+ international credit-mobility programs to initiate joint projects, research, initiatives;
- Report at the International Scientific Conference of the European Marketing and Management Association (EUMMAS) in Bucharest (Romania).
