With €1 million in funding from the European Union, BTU is launching a project to empower women in technology.
Business and Technology University has received €1 million in funding from the European Union to empower women in technology.
The project “Mentorship of Women in Tech Programs” aims to involve 1,100 beneficiaries and 320 mentors within three streams.
Mentoring sessions will take place in five different technology modules, including Cyber Security, Front-end Development, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, and UX/UI Design.
One-third of the beneficiaries of the project will be selected from regions outside the capital.
Empowerment and development of women in the technological sector are planned within the framework of the project supported and financed by the European Union. The project involves implementing intensive mentorship programs, developing new courses tailored to industry needs, and partnering with stakeholders to create more opportunities for women in the fast-growing technology field. Within the framework of the project, the beneficiaries will additionally be provided with sessions aimed at improving career development and entrepreneurial skills.
BTU’s large-scale project – “Mentorship of Women in Tech Programs” aims to strengthen the country’s human resources in digital fields, increase the participation of women, and promote gender equality. The project is in line with the EU Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 and the Third Digital Inequality Action Plan. The project will be implemented with the support and involvement of the leading Lithuanian women’s empowerment organization Women Go Tech.
