BTU GLOBAL – New plans and strategy of Business and Technology University
1,300 new students , new curricula and projects, new labs, student spaces, new research, partners and beneficiaries, new markets – these are the new plans announced by the University of Business and Technology (BTU), which announced its 5th birthday.
On September 16, the University of Business and Technology summarized the activities carried out over 5 years – 5,000 students, 120 professors, 250 lecturers, 7 accredited programs, 350 international partners, 700 beneficiaries participating in an international project, 900 internationally certified students, 30 victories in international competitions. 4,000 trained entrepreneurs in Georgia, 2,500 trained women in technology, 4 00 fully funded training, 40 hackathons, ideaathon, Olympics, student competition, 100 social projects, 7 laboratories, 50 studies, 1,500,000 GEL invested in startups – this is an incomplete list of those The projects and achievements that the University of Business and Technology met on its birthday.
As for the new plans, it will be even larger and more effective than the activities already implemented.
A new, accredited undergraduate program in digital marketing will be added to the University’s accredited programs this year . During the program, students will learn about modern trends in marketing, digital tools and strategic marketing concepts.
New high-tech laboratories opened at BTU . In total, there are 7 laboratories: iOS & Android Lab, Creative Lab / Design studio, AI Lab, Blockchain Lab, Renewable Energy Lab, Industry 4.0 Lab and HIGH TECH Lab.
Trainings for students and other beneficiaries are constantly held in these laboratories. Including: Salesforce, Mobile App Development – iOS, Mobile App Development – Android, MS Power BI, SEO / Google Ads / Google Analytics, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Amazon Web Services, Cybersecurity, VR / AR, AI Programming, Machine Learning , Data Analyzes, Graphic Design, UI / UX Design, Digital Marketing.
“University of Business and Technology” is actively working on a new direction. This is BTU QUANTUM – new technology and the future . Webinars, panel discussions and master classes will be held as part of the novelty. It includes artificial intelligence, bioengineering and cyber security.
In the near future, it is planned to create a new digital map for students and entrants, which will be posted on the university and on the new website.
New, exciting projects are starting at the BTU Entrepreneurship Center , which was set up in partnership with the British Henley School of Business and is actively working to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country . The list of activities already planned looks like this: new IT hub for students and startups, digital inclusion program, fintech accelerator, new market research service, new product testing service, new resources from the world’s leading incubators. Trainings on preparing a grant application, obtaining funding from an investor and other topics of interest to entrepreneurs.
The Tech Clinic will start operating in the Entrepreneurship Center , which will offer new opportunities to students, startups, small and medium entrepreneurs.
Student startup demo day has been held at the university several times already . This time the project takes on a larger scale and the demo day of the first international student startups is planned in Georgia .
Along with many other funding opportunities, the University of Business and Technology will launch a new grant project to fund innovative student startups . This is a Pre Seed Funding initiative for student startups.
The Global Startup Fund will implement new projects in 2021-2022 that will further help startups receive funding.
BTU is a strategic partner of the best university in the world, MIT , in partnership with which a new project is planned to support the innovation ecosystem in Georgia .
The first international employment forum will be held in Georgia, organized by the University Career Center, with the involvement of the world’s leading brands.
The Digital Center and the Career Center of the University of Business and Technology will also offer new digital and development projects . These will be: Career Mapping Program, Job Shadowing Program, Mock / Case Interview Trainings by International Standards, Automated CV Generator, Automated Referral Generator, New BTU Alumni Club.
The University pays great attention to the development of digital literacy . In this direction are planned: retraining of school-age children : basics of programming, basics of robotics, STEM modules, basics of innovation and startups, cyberhygiene, introduction of biotechnology, Microsoft for Kids, etc. Beneficiaries living in the orphanage will be trained in three areas : digital marketing, graphic design, tester. There will be digital training programs for parents and teachers – Parent Control training, cyberbullying management, etc.
Planned for the development of digital media library : Electronic Toolkit project for students and professors, Science Talks, Banned Book Week, science classes involving the world’s leading science, digital literacy growth projects and the addition of new science databases, new utility center for science and startups, new digital products for children and parents New library products for multimedia artists and programmers – Creative Lab / Design studio services.
As part of the projects planned by the university, another 1000 women will be involved in technology and will develop in this direction.
BTU is actively involved in research – new scientific research will be conducted next year with the involvement of partner international scientific institutes . These are: Annual Analytical Report of Georgian Startup Ecosystem, New Studies in Circular Economics, Digital Economy and Digital Governance, New Research in Cyber Security, New Scientific Award for Best Researcher, New Scientific Journal, New Training Modules for Science Management Prof.
As part of continuing education, new digital modules will be created for graduates .
There will be more than 300 fully funded certification courses and more than 50 fully funded trainings.
A new postdoctoral program will be launched, which includes research and conferences, Fellowship programs, institutional development projects.
The university traditionally hosts competitions, hackathons and Olympiads with BTU international partners . Among them will be: Google Week, HP CUP Hackathon, Cyber Hackathon, Cyber Forum, Safer Internet Day, #ErasmusDay 2021 Global Event, International Internet Day – Student Competition and Ideaton, National Technology Day – Georgian Technology Festival, International Day of Women and Girls in Science – Coding School for Women Forum, World Creativity and Innovation Day – Hackathon & Student Bootcamp, World Entrepreneur Day – International Forum of the Entrepreneurship Center.
From 2022 , BTU is preparing for one of the largest projects – the University-based Webster University campus will start operating .
BTU is actively working to enter global markets. There is already a new international cooperation agreement with Asian countries.
