The BTU AI Hackathon has officially opened
The second round of the artificial intelligence hackathon for students has officially started at Business and Technology University.
A total of 116 teams, consisting of students from 22 universities in Georgia, participated in the large-scale hackathon organized by BTU. Twenty-one teams and about 70 students moved to the second round.
Within the framework of the hackathon, students have to create artificial intelligence solutions, which they will then connect with the educational sector. The prize fund of the hackathon is 20,000 GEL, which will be distributed among 3 winners. The teams will use the money for prototype development.
The winner will be selected by a competent jury, whose members are:
- Zaal Gachechiladze: Pulsar AI co-founder, AI Lab co-founder;
- Rati Skhirtladze: founder and director of the data analysis laboratory;
- Ioseb Khutsishvili: MaxinAI co-founder;
- Mariam Chakhvadze: Machine Learning / Software Engineer at Quantori;
- Mikheil Rukhaia: BTU Professor, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence head;
- Tornike Sulaberidze: head of business development at Lineate.
Participants in the hackathon’s work process are mentored by representatives of various companies:
- Martha Melia: data scientist at the Bank of Georgia;
- Anzor Gozalishvili: ML Engineer at Quantori;
- Ana Kolkhidashvili: R&D team leader at Impel;
- Grigol Samkharadze: Startup Advisor / Mentor.
MIT’s online training on “The Impact of Generative AI on Business and the Future of Innovation” is also planned for the participants. Its speaker will be MIT Sloan School of Management lecturer and serial entrepreneur George Whitfield.
The hackathon is held within AI MARATHON. The artificial intelligence marathon combines various competitions, championships, and events, with thousands of students from all over the country taking part.
