The first XR LAB in Georgia has been established at the new campus of Business and Technology University
For the first time in Georgia, an Extended Reality (XR) Learning Laboratory has been launched at the new campus of Business and Technology University (BTU). The XR LAB was established in partnership with the Zwickau University of Applied Sciences and with the support of DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the laboratory features virtual reality headsets, AI-powered educational content, and virtual learning resources developed by leading German experts. It is designed to support bachelor’s and master’s level education, facilitate academic research, and enable the development of new, innovative projects. The lab will be accessible to BTU professors, students, and partner organizations.
This novel and innovative teaching methodology, based on extended reality, offers interactive learning experiences, supports remote education, and enables the creation of modular, adaptive virtual learning environments tailored to specific academic subjects. Professors and researchers from the Zwickau University of Applied Sciences will contribute to the dissemination of this experience in Georgia.
Within the framework of the partnership between BTU, DAAD, and Zwickau University, a joint undergraduate program in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence is already operational. Through this program, students can study in Germany for several semesters with full funding and receive diplomas from both institutions. Professors from the German university are also actively involved in the teaching process.
