BTU AI4Globe from Georgia to promote AI literacy around the world
AI4Globe is a new international initiative aimed at increasing artificial intelligence literacy globally. The project significantly changes the educational experience and creates new opportunities to realize the potential of artificial intelligence.
Innovative educational activities will be implemented within the project, involving various international organizations. The initiative targets different demographic groups, including children, adolescents, women, academic staff, and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
At the initial stage, the project will be implemented in Georgia, with plans to gradually expand its activities on an international scale.
AI4Globe includes four main target groups:
Children and Adults: Educational resources for AI literacy will be created for these groups. Activities will include awareness campaigns, school information meetings, innovation camps, ideathons, and competitions. Teachers and parents/guardians will receive training on topics such as AI opportunities and challenges, cyber hygiene, and safe web browsing practices. The child and adolescent component of the AI4Globe project is supported by UNICEF Georgia.
Women: Training will be provided in artificial intelligence development, programming, and career advancement in the tech field. Hybrid training sessions will be held for participants in various regions, a series of podcasts will be produced, an association of women working in AI will be formed, and various events will promote skills development and employment. With the support of UN Women, the University of Business and Technology is already running an unprecedented Women in AI project, which will be expanded and internationalized within this initiative.
SMEs: Training programs and workshops on the effective integration of artificial intelligence into business processes will be offered to representatives of SMEs. Unique multimedia materials for skills development will be prepared and shared openly, business AI camps will be organized, and training-of-trainers (ToT) sessions will be conducted. Free consulting services for digital transformation will also be provided. Cooperation with the European Business Association (EBA) will take place within this component of the initiative.
Academic Staff: Researchers, scientists, and professors will identify the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in education. An AI literacy guide will be developed, along with a methodological document necessary for teaching and research. The initiative will be internationalized within the global scientific community. AI4Globe’s partners include UNICEF, UN Women, UNICRI, KTH Sweden, the University of Granada (Spain), TalTech (Estonia), the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), Zwickau University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Beetroot Academy (Sweden-Ukraine), and the European Business Association.
