The AI Institute – a new international initiative at Business and Technology University (BTU).
The AI Institute is an international initiative set to become a leading center for the dissemination of knowledge on digital skills and artificial intelligence. Based at BTU’s new campus, the Institute will promote AI literacy across various target groups through the iamtheCODE platform. Its mission is to empower marginalized communities—particularly children, adolescents, and young women—through AI and digital skills, foster ethical and sustainable innovation, support the development of the national innovation ecosystem, and contribute to the socio-economic well-being of both the country and the wider region.
The AI Institute was co-founded by Business and Technology University (BTU) and Lady Mariéme Jamme, a globally recognized technology activist and advocate for women’s empowerment. Named in the BBC’s Top 100 Women, and recipient of numerous international awards, Lady Mariéme Jamme traveled to Georgia on a special visit for the launch of this initiative. She is the founder of the global organization iamtheCODE, which operates in 88 countries and aims to train 1 million young women, adolescents, and children in coding by 2030.
The AI Institute will gradually expand its operations to other countries, contributing to the development of innovative ecosystems worldwide.
