The initial working meeting of the European Union-supported women’s empowerment project

The EU-supported “Mentoring Women in Tech Programs” project aims to engage 1,100 beneficiaries and 320 mentors across three phases. Notably, the initiative seeks nationwide female involvement, with at least 30% of participants drawn from various regions of Georgia.
Over a span of five months, intensive mentoring sessions will cover five key technology domains: Cyber Security, Front-end Development, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, and UX/UI Design. The first phase, commencing in July 2024, will train 100 beneficiaries under the guidance of 70 mentors.
“The Business and Technology University values the European Union’s backing and resources. Through education, mentoring, and tech skill enhancement, we empower Georgian women to excel in the digital era,” remarked Professor Nino Enukidze, Rector of Business and Technology University.
The event saw participation from project mentors, experts, and representatives of partnering firms committed to advancing gender equality and digital inclusion in Georgia.
Aligned with the EU Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 and the Third Digital Inequality Action Plan, the EU-funded “Mentorship of Women in Tech Programs,” implemented by BTU alongside the European Business Association and Lithuanian Women Go Tech, aims to fortify the nation’s digital workforce, elevate female engagement in technology, and promote gender parity.
