Introduction of Innovative Technologies in Digitalization of Technological Processes and Production/DIGITECH
The EU funded Erasmus+ CBHE DIGITECH project aims to address the mismatch between educational outcomes and labor market demands in Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Georgia by integrating innovative technologies such as Big Data, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence into the existing curricula for “Automation of Technological Processes and Production.” The project seeks to enhance the Quality of education and the employability of graduates by equipping them with cutting-edge skills in digitalization of technological Processes and production, while also modernizing teaching methodologies and fostering closer collaboration between academia and industry. Key objectives include updating Bachelor’s degree programs, developing continuous professional development courses, and establishing Digital Twins technology laboratories at participating higher education institutions (HEIs). The project emphasizes inclusivity, aiming to provide equal opportunities for women, disadvantaged groups, and students from remote regions. Through collaboration with European universities and industry leaders, DIGITECH will introduce best practices, improve teacher training, and promote sustainable economic development. The project also aligns with EU policies on digital transformation, green technologies, and open access, ensuring long-term impact and sustainability. By fostering international cooperation and knowledge transfer, DIGITECH aims to create a robust educational framework that prepares students for the challenges of Industry 4.0 and beyond, ultimately contributing to the economic and technological advancement of the participating countries
Women in AI
Women in AI is part of the economic empowerment component of the UN Women’s project “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia”, which is funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and coordinated by the University of Business and Technology. The project started in February 2024.
Within the framework of the initiative, 200 beneficiaries were trained in two batches.
First batch: 100 beneficiaries (50 – web development, 50 – artificial intelligence(AI))
Second batch: 100 beneficiaries (50 – web development, 50 – artificial intelligence(AI))
The project provided beneficiaries with industry-specific knowledge and skills with an intensive 9-month training program fully funded by donors and collaboration with interested public and private structures to increase employment opportunities in the rapidly growing technology sector and eliminate gender inequality.
Women in AI 2.0
Women in AI 2.0 is a flagship national initiative implemented by Business and Technology University with the support of UN Women Georgia and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) . Building on the successful implementation of the Women in AI and 500 Women in Tech initiatives, the programme represents the next stage in BTU’s long-term commitment to advancing women’s participation, leadership and employability in Georgia’s digital economy.

As part of the project, additional career development activities are planned for the beneficiaries, along with sessions focused on improving entrepreneurship skills.
AI & Digital Commerce For Women
This 12-month pilot initiative supported and funded by Mastercard is designed to empower a selected pilot cohort of 25 women entrepreneurs in Georgia to build, launch and scale AI-enabled e-commerce businesses.
The program combines financial literacy, digital entrepreneurship, AI tools and hands-on platform development, enabling participants to transition from early-stage ideas to fully functional online businesses integrated with digital payment systems.
Through a structured, practice-oriented approach, participants will gain the skills, tools and ecosystem access needed to actively participate in the digital economy and achieve sustainable income generation.
Cross-Cutting Elements:
Hands-On, Build-Oriented Approach – Participants develop real businesses throughout the program not theoretical exercises.
AI Integration Across All Phases – AI tools are embedded in marketing, operations, analytics, and customer engagement.
Inclusivity Focus – Strong outreach to women from diverse regions and backgrounds across Georgia.
Partnership-Driven Implementation – Collaboration with ecosystem actors (including payment providers and development partners).
BTU AI4Globe and Coca-Cola for Education: An International Digital Literacy Initiative for Children and Adolescents
Within the framework of the joint initiative BTU AI4Globe and Coca-Cola for Education, a comprehensive set of educational multimedia resources has been developed to enhance children’s and adolescents’ knowledge of emerging technologies, cyber hygiene, AI and related digital competencies. Produced in both Georgian and English, these materials are intended to reach hundreds of thousands of young learners in Georgia and internationally.
In addition to the multimedia learning resources and educational video series, BTU will organize a year-round programme of technology camps, workshops and interactive educational sessions for children and adolescents, providing opportunities to engage with and further explore the topics covered in the materials.
As part of the initiative, 20 educational videos have already been produced in Georgian and English. These resources are being published on an online learning platform, where they will be freely accessible to students, parents and educators.

AI Startup Pre-Accelerator
Between April and June 2025, BTU’s Entrepreneurship Center implemented an AI Startup Pre-Acceleration Program. The program brought together AI-driven startups from across Georgia that were at the idea or early development stage. The six-week pre-acceleration program was delivered in partnership with the MIT Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship. As part of the program, MIT experts and Entrepreneurs in Residence provided mentorship to participating startups, supporting them in validating and developing their business ideas. During the program’s Demo Day, two outstanding AI startups were selected as winners, and a total of GEL 15,000 in grant funding was awarded.
