The registration for beneficiaries of the third stream within the “Coding School for 1500 Women” project has begun!
In a bid to bolster the role of women in technology, Business and Technology University, with the support of 40 partner companies under the USAID Employers for Vocational Education program, is spearheading an unprecedented initiative – the “Coding School for 1500 Women”.
Training/Retraining Programs:
Under this project, beneficiaries undergo training/retraining in Tech English (levels A1/A2 and B1/B2), mandatory for all participants, along with selecting one of the following tech specializations during registration:
- Digital Marketing
- Graphic Design
- Testing Digital Products
- UI/UX Design
- Front-end Development (requires prior experience and knowledge of technical subjects; candidates may undergo additional testing/interviews)
- Back-end Development in Python or C# (requires prior experience and knowledge of technical subjects; candidates may undergo additional testing/interviews)
Important Dates:
- Application Period: March 8-28, 2024
- Selection Process: April 1-12, 2024
- Tech English Training: April 15-May 16, 2024
- Technical Course Training: May 20-August 23, 2024
- Individual Mentorship: September 9-13, 2024
- Career Bootcamp: September 16-20, 2024
- Pitch Yourself Event: October 11, 2024

Target Locations:
Registration is open to individuals residing or registered in any municipality of Georgia except for the five self-governing cities (Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Poti).
Target Age Group:
Women aged 16-40 residing/registered in the target municipalities are the primary focus of this project.
Selection Process and Stages:
- Fill out the online application form.
- General Basic Aptitude Test.
- Evaluation of the motivation letter provided in the application form (if necessary).
Applicants are ranked based on their performance in the general basic skills test, and participants are then assigned to appropriate groups.
The cover letter should address the following questions:
- Why do you wish to participate in the project?
- Why have you chosen this particular tech course?
- How will this project impact your future professional aspirations?
The cover letter is evaluated only if applicants’ scores are equal during the ranking stage.
Upon completing the selection stage, beneficiaries undergo an English proficiency test to determine their level, enabling them to be placed in the appropriate Tech English course.
Beneficiaries are required to sign a special agreement provided by the organizing group of the “Coding School for 1500 Women” project, outlining the terms of cooperation, obligations, and measures/response in case of non-compliance.
Lecture Schedule:
- Tech English: delivered via a coding platform through video lessons, at the participant’s preferred time.
- Other courses: 2 meetings per week, duration: 2 hours, estimated time: 19:00-21:00 (Saturday and Sunday lectures may be scheduled during daytime hours).
Teaching Format:
Remote, with some activities conducted in-person (e.g., Pitch Yourself event).
Information to Consider During Registration:
To fully participate, project participants must have a Gmail account for registration. Additionally, a computer with internet access and the following minimum specifications is required: OS: 64-bit version of Windows 10, RAM: 4 GB.

Beneficiaries without computers and internet will be served by women’s coding rooms created within the framework of the project and technically fully equipped at the following locations:

• Bakhvi Village Public School of Ozurgeti Municipality named after St. Gabriel Bishop, Miss.: Ozurgeti, Bakhvi Village

• Ambrolauri N1 public school, V. Kobakhidze Street N2
• Women’s room of Oni municipality, central library (on the side of the town hall), the room was given to the project as a sign of support by the town hall of Oni municipality, especially for the beneficiaries living in Oni municipality.
