What does the first digital information fund about Georgia mean?

The use of artificial intelligence is growing globally and its use already covers almost all sectors. Against this background, a large-scale information base is being created in Georgia, which is processed by artificial intelligence, and its use will significantly contribute to the development of various directions.

Creating a unified digital information base is of particular importance in a rapidly changing technology environment. Along with the development of technologies, the behavior of receiving information is changing globally. Its goal is to obtain correct and reliable information from the appropriate source in a short period of time. The main information fund of Georgia will be created with artificial intelligence tools, which will automate the information search process. As a result, search efficiency and availability of information tailored to personal needs and interests will increase, and false and unverified information will be blocked.

The fund is created in cooperation between BTU and “Palitra Holding”. Mikheil Batiashvili, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University of Business and Technology, talks about its importance and possibilities.

Why is it important to create a digital information fund about Georgia?

First, it will promote transparency and reliability of information. On the other hand, in general, technology and artificial intelligence contribute to the development of many fields.

Very soon we will be ready to present to the public the first digital information base about Georgia, which will be important for representatives of various fields, including: economists, businessmen, education specialists, politicians and others. They will be able to access the information accumulated in Georgia over the years and use it for their own activities. All this will be done using artificial intelligence.

On the other hand, the fund will maximize the awareness of Georgia in the international arena by providing them with reliable, correct and diverse information about the country. Finally, it is reflected in international investments, tourism, economic development.

Also, we would like Georgia to be positioned as an advanced country in terms of technology.

Who are your technology partners within the project?

One of the first ones we work with is chatGPT. Its artificial intelligence will help us manage Georgian information. The work is being done on the basis of the Microsoft artificial intelligence laboratory, which was opened a few months ago at the University of Business and Technology. The laboratory is the only one in the region. Microsoft is one of the main players in the technology sector globally.

Accordingly, we have a good technological base and we have good partners, which made us decide to start working on a project based on Georgian information and using foreign artificial intelligence.

In what form will the information base be made widely available? Will it be a mobile app or a website?

Very soon, the information gathered in our fund and processed by artificial intelligence will be available using various technologies. Our goal is to make it as accessible as possible, so information will be available both through the website and the mobile application. Among them, chatGPT users will also have free access. However, initially, this will only apply to paid users.

Our goal is for as many people as possible to take advantage of what today’s technologies offer. Next year will be the fastest growing year for artificial intelligence. The era of artificial intelligence has begun, which is integrated into practically all fields.

When is the official launch of the platform planned?

Although we already have quite a large base, we are still in the stage of collecting information. At the same time, testing and analysis of its capabilities is underway. If the foundation was made available in its current form, it would be useful for many areas today.

Many issues during work also depend on our partners. However, we think that the platform will be available by the end of the year.

Is it planned to create a Georgian language version of GeorgiaAI?

In the first phase, it will be available in English. However, our goal is that the Georgian language version will appear gradually. We are also working on teaching the artificial intelligence the linguistic processing of text in the Georgian language, and then the Georgian language fund will be available.
