A Global AgriTech Project for Women Launches at the Initiative of BTU
To support women working in the agricultural sector, Business and Technology University has launched a partnership with the Indian organization ADGA EXIM LLP. The agreement was reached during the World Economic Forum in Davos and aims to empower women entrepreneurs in agriculture, promote the adoption of agricultural technologies in their business activities, raise awareness around Climate Smart Agriculture, and strengthen entrepreneurial skills among professionals employed in the sector.
The initiative will begin in Georgia and India, and will later expand gradually across the countries of the South Caucasus, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.
The partnership will include the development of joint educational programmes, training and reskilling initiatives for women in AgriTech, as well as the exchange of trainers, mentors, and international experts. It also envisions the organization of seminars, workshops, webinars, and conferences, alongside collaboration on research and innovation projects, particularly in the field of sustainable agriculture.
Another important component of the initiative is the support of women-founded startups through mentorship and access to international networks, as well as the promotion of trade and market access opportunities between Georgia and India.
In line with the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), BTU actively supports gender equality, the advancement of women’s leadership, and the strengthening of women’s professional opportunities across different sectors.
