International AI Hackathon for Women
Business and Technology University, in collaboration with the iamtheCODE AI Institute, hosted an international Artificial Intelligence Hackathon for women and girls. The initiative aimed to empower young women in the field of technology by creating opportunities to develop innovative solutions and strengthen their AI skills. The international hackathon was implemented with the support of UN Women Georgia.
The three-day international hackathon brought together 100 women, providing a platform focused not only on developing technical competencies but also on fostering leadership, innovation, and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The hackathon is part of a global movement dedicated to expanding access to Artificial Intelligence and STEAM education for women and girls, promoting greater inclusion and participation in emerging technologies.
The central theme of the hackathon was “How can AI be used for Good in Advancing the SDGs?”, encouraging participants to explore how artificial intelligence can be leveraged to address global challenges and support sustainable development.
AI MARATHON
AI MARATHON is a large-scale initiative by Business and Technology University (BTU) that brings together artificial intelligence competitions, hackathons, championships, and educational events. The marathon includes the AI Hackathon, AI Ideathon, AI JAM Sessions, Programming Championship, AI Debates, AI Startup Pitch Competition, AI Hack for Good, and other activities, engaging thousands of university students and technology enthusiasts from across Georgia. The initiative aims to foster innovation in artificial intelligence, promote technology entrepreneurship, and provide young talents with opportunities for practical experience, mentorship, and funding.
Since its launch, AI MARATHON has hosted a number of large-scale competitions and hackathons, with the total prize and investment fund exceeding GEL 40,000. Through the support of its technology partners, winning teams receive financial investment and mentorship to develop their ideas into working prototypes and innovative products.
