McDonald’s Georgia Becomes a Partner of the Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub
McDonald’s Georgia has become a partner of the Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub. The Tech Olympiads Hub was established in 2025 on the basis of Business and Technology University (BTU) and brings together international technology olympiads, the preparation process of national teams, educational activities, winter and summer camps, training programs, and other initiatives that support the development of students’ technological knowledge and skills.
Within the framework of the partnership, McDonald’s Georgia will support the activities of the Tech Olympiads Hub, including the preparation of students for international olympiads, the promotion of technological education, regional and national activities, the creation of new opportunities for young people, and the development of an internationally competitive generation.
“For McDonald’s Georgia, it is especially important to support initiatives that serve the education and development of young people and the creation of future opportunities for them. Technologies and innovations are an important driving force in the modern world; therefore, we believe that supporting talented young people and increasing their access to knowledge and international experience is an important prerequisite for the country’s development,” said Elene Bagaturia, Head of Marketing at McDonald’s Georgia.
Within the framework of the cooperation, McDonald’s Georgia will support the implementation of the Hub’s key activities, including:
Selection, preparation, and support of national teams for international olympiads — to represent Georgia on the global stage;
Technology courses — intensive educational programs and special Training of Trainers (ToT) courses for young people and teachers;
Regional campaigns — with the involvement of McDonald’s Georgia, informational meetings, school visits, and other activities will be organized across the regions of Georgia to promote the Tech Olympiads Hub and international olympiads, increase access to technological education, and encourage youth engagement;
Support for the Hub’s events — through the provision of meals for participants within the framework of various activities, camps, trainings, and events.
“We are pleased to join these outstanding olympiads, which will help young people fully realize their potential and give them the opportunity to achieve success on the global stage,” said Elene Bagaturia, Head of Marketing at McDonald’s Georgia.
In 2026, the Georgian girls’ team prepared within the framework of the Hub successfully participated in the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2026). Team member Gvantsa Khvedelidze won a bronze medal, while Tako Shanava was awarded an honorable mention. The olympiad was held in Cesenatico, Italy, and brought together participants from more than 50 countries.
The Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub ensures the selection and preparation of national teams, as well as Georgia’s representation at international olympiads, including EGOI, EJOI, IOI, and IOAI. The Hub aims to identify talented students, support their development, and promote Georgia’s successful representation on the international technology stage.
The Tech Olympiads Hub was established at Business and Technology University with the general sponsorship of TBC Bank. The Hub’s partners include UN Women, the Georgian Artificial Intelligence Association (GAIA), the ICT Association, EPAM Georgia, Lineate, and Blox. The involvement of McDonald’s Georgia will further strengthen the Hub’s capacity to make technological education accessible to young people from different regions of Georgia and support the international success of the next generation.
The mission of the Tech Olympiads Hub is to strengthen technological education in Georgia, promote innovation, programming, artificial intelligence, and other technological fields among young people, and ensure Georgia’s successful representation at international olympiads.
