Global Startup Foundation is the Premier Startup Launchpad in the region involving Israel’s Silicon Wadi and Silicon Valley Tbilisi. Global Startup Foundation was launched to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. Its main goal is to support local innovative startups in their journey to global expansion.
Every year, Global Startup Foundation organizes international startup events for startups to pitch to top global investors from Silicon Wadi. During these events startups have the opportunity to connect with future mentors and discuss their plans and prospects. What’s more, the foundation hosts private events for investors, masterclass sessions with top representatives of international startup ecosystems, meetings with Georgia’s Innovations and Technology Agency, financial institutions etc.
Global Startup Foundation was established in 2019. The foundation created the opportunity for Georgian startups to acquire international investments. Investors from Israeli Silicon Wadi have made a major contribution to the development of the local startup ecosystem. After their first meeting with shortlisted startups they funded Echolize and together with GITA the startup raised a total of GEL 1,300,000. The investor network of the foundation grows every year. Notably, local angel investors have shown interest in funding rising entrepreneurs in Georgia.
Annual Summit of Global Startup Foundation
The annual summit of the Global Startup Foundation will be held for startups, international tech companies, angel investors, and organizations interested in the field of innovation, On May 31. The summit will combine a start-up competition, a presentation of a bestseller book on venture deals, a panel discussion, and a keynote speech by a special guest coming to Georgia specifically for the said summit.Hilla Ovil-Brenner is an invited guest of the summit, named among the 100 most influential investors in Israel, is a serial entrepreneur, investor in more than 70 startups, and former Head and mentor of Israel’s leading accelerator Techstars. The most advanced, innovative, and fast-growing startups of the country have already been selected to meet her and other local angel investors.
The meeting with angel investors is a closed part of the event, the purpose of which is to increase access to finance opportunity, the prospect of international commercialization, and the possibility of establishing new connections for startups based in Georgia.
The final demo day of the BTU student startup competition will also be held at the summit, where the winner will receive 5,000 GEL as grant funding. All student startups of BTU programs that pass the selection stage and preparatory boot camp had a chance to participate in the competition. To determine the winning startup, the jury consists of with the following partner organizations: TBC, Axel and Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency.
At the end of the summit, the presentation of the Georgian edition of the world bestseller book “Venture Deals”. which was translated and published by the initiative and funding of BTU will be held. The book demonstrates the complexities of startups and entrepreneurship in the present dynamic, economic environment and teaches technology company strategies of the relationship with investors.

Hilla Ovil-Brenner is named among Israel’s 100 most influential investors. She has invested in more than 70 companies. Kati Khuntsaria joined Axel’s board in 2022 as an investment board member, she is also an active investor. Global Startup Foundation Summit 2021
Global Startup Foundation has partnered with TBC, which launched a new product for potential investors – Startup Investment Loan. Startup Investment Loan is for any individual, who is interested in finding additional funds for investing in a startup of their choice.
