Giorgi Benashvili
Giorgi Benashvili is an economist and researcher specializing in international economics, economic security, and political economy. He is an Associate Professor at Business and Technology University. He teaches courses on International Economics, Financial Institutions and Markets, Economic Theory, and the Scandinavian Economic Model at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Giorgi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Tbilisi State University, where his research focused on Free Trade Agreements and their impact on macroeconomic indicators, particularly in the case of Georgia. His academic journey has been enriched by prestigious fellowships, allowing him to conduct research at Wirtschaftsuniversität Vienna, the University of Tartu, the University of Bremen, and the University of Economics in Bratislava through funding from DAAD, OeAD, the Slovak National Scholarship Program, and Dora Plus.
Beyond academia, Giorgi is a dedicated public diplomacy advocate and political commentator, actively promoting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration. As the Founder and CEO of the European Education Center, he has developed and led innovative academic programs that engage young professionals in international affairs, economic policy, and European studies.
Giorgi is also a frequent speaker and moderator at high-profile international conferences and policy forums, including the Economic Forum in Karpacz (Poland), the Krynica Economic Forum, and various academic conferences across Vienna, Lyon, Tokyo, Dubai, and London. He has also participated in prestigious security and diplomacy programs, such as the Manfred Wörner Seminar, organized by the German Bundeswehr, and the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (WEASA) at the College of Europe in Natolin.
As a researcher, Giorgi has authored nine academic publications and contributed to leading research and analytical centers.
