Women in AI 2.0 is a large-scale technology education and professional development project for women, implemented through the collaboration of BTU and UN Women Georgia as a continuation of the “500 Women in Tech” initiative.
The project aims to create opportunities for women aged 16 and above from across Georgia to gain knowledge and develop practical skills in modern technology fields. Women in AI 2.0 contributes to strengthening women’s participation in technology and provides participants with an opportunity to explore modern, rapidly evolving and in-demand technology areas.
Through the project, participants have the opportunity to study in four technology areas: Artificial Intelligence, Frontend Development, Data Science and Software Products Testing. Twenty-five beneficiaries will be selected for each training area, providing a total of 100 participants with the opportunity to complete specialised training programmes.
The Artificial Intelligence programme covers Linear Algebra, Python, Data Science, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Participants will explore the key principles behind artificial intelligence technologies and data-driven systems.
The Frontend Development programme covers modern web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills needed to create modern web products.
The Data Science programme includes Python for Data Science, data collection and cleaning, SQL and databases, data analysis with Pandas, data visualisation, statistics and an introduction to Machine Learning.
The Software Products Testing programme covers the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), QA fundamentals and testing principles, test case design and documentation, manual testing techniques, bug reporting, Jira and an introduction to Test Automation.
The training programmes combine modern technological knowledge with practical approaches, enabling participants to develop relevant skills and explore professional opportunities in the technology industry.
Applicants are required to complete the English language assessment organised by BTU. Candidates are exempt from the assessment if they submit a valid internationally recognised English language proficiency certificate at B1 level, including IELTS, TOEFL or FCE, or a university diploma confirming that the language of instruction was English.
Lecturers
Irakli Kereleishvili – Data Science
Irakli Kereleishvili is a specialist in Computer Science and Data Science. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, with a double specialisation in Computer Science and Data Science. Irakli has professional experience in software development, data engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence. He also has experience in teaching and mentoring students, actively sharing his knowledge with the next generation of technology professionals.
Mariami Goginava – Software Products Testing
Mariami Goginava is Vice President of GeoSTQB, a Senior Automation Engineer and a B2B QA Consultant. She has over six years of experience in manual, automated and API testing. Mariami is also an invited lecturer at BTU and the University of Georgia, sharing her expertise with the next generation of QA specialists. She is an ISTQB® Academia Recognition Badge recipient and an active international conference speaker.
Giorgi Kurtanidze – Artificial Intelligence
Giorgi Kurtanidze is a Software Engineer specialising in artificial intelligence, data-driven systems and FinTech. He currently works on AI-powered products and payment infrastructure at Autopilot. Alongside his background in Computer Science and Data Science, Giorgi has several years of experience teaching mathematics, with a strong focus on analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ketevan Gagua – Front-End Development
Ketevan Gagua is a Front-End Developer and lecturer with over four years of experience in web development and more than three years of experience in technology education. For more than three years, she has been teaching Front-End Development at BTU, the Digital Industry Academy, EduCity, and KiberOne. As part of an Erasmus+ project, she worked at Ostim Technical University in Turkey, delivering Front-End Development lectures to international students.
A particularly important part of her work focuses on empowering women in technology. Ketevan is actively involved in BTU’s educational initiatives, including the Women Mentorship in Tech Programmes, Women in AI, and the Coding School for 1,500 Women, where she shares practical Front-End Development knowledge with women from different regions of Georgia.
