Women In Tech
With the support of the U.S. Embassy, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the Women in Tech project in Tbilisi, Telavi, Kutaisi, and Batumi. As part of the initiative, participants completed a fully funded, six-month training programme covering modern web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular. The programme enabled participants to develop practical skills and prepare for employment in the technology sector.
500 Women In Tech
Founders Gap
The initiative was part of the “500 Women in Tech” project and aimed to empower women through technology education while supporting them in developing their own start-ups based on the knowledge and skills they acquired.
Girls in Tech
In partnership with Liberty Bank, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented fully funded training programmes for women living across Georgia’s regions as part of the Coding School for Women project. Participants gained practical knowledge and skills in Front-End Development, Software Testing (QA), and UI/UX Design, creating new opportunities for their career development in the technology sector.
Girls Who Code
As part of Girls Who Code, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented a fully funded, two-week summer programme for girls aged 15–18. Delivered in English, the programme aimed to increase participants’ interest in computer science, empower girls in technology, and bring together young people with shared interests.
Technology Camp for Schoolgirls
At the initiative of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), the Business and Technology University (BTU) organised a technology camp for schoolgirls. The programme brought together 50 participants selected from different regions of Georgia, who gained practical knowledge and experience in programming, artificial intelligence, cyber ethics, and other areas of technology.
Acceleration Programme for Women Agripreneurs
With the support of Silicon Valley Tbilisi, the Georgian Farmers’ Association, and USAID, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented an acceleration programme for women agripreneurs in eastern Georgia. Through the programme, participants received intensive training in agritech, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, entrepreneurship, and start-up development, while also gaining the opportunity to work with mentors.
BOOST
The Business and Technology University (BTU) was selected as a winner of the UNDP regional programme BOOST: Women Innovators. Chosen among 54 organisations from across Europe and Central Asia, BTU participated in a 12-week intensive programme focused on strengthening staff innovation capabilities and supporting women’s entrepreneurship.
Promoting Information Literacy for Women in the Digital Environment
With the support of UNESCO, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the project “Promoting Information Literacy for Women in Georgia’s Digital Environment,” aimed at strengthening women’s information literacy and digital skills. As part of the project, Georgian women and Ukrainian refugee women received training in information literacy and digital technologies. The initiative also included a large-scale awareness campaign and the establishment of a graduate network that supports knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Junior Tech
In collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the Junior Tech project. Over a nine-month period, 81 beneficiaries aged 15–21, selected from vulnerable groups in Tbilisi and Batumi, received training in digital literacy, cybersecurity, graphic design, social media marketing, and technology-focused English. The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ digital and communication skills, improve their career readiness, and expand their access to education and employment opportunities.
Do IT in Georgia
With the support of USAID and Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the Do IT in Georgia project. The initiative provided participants with training opportunities in software testing, UI/UX design, graphic design, and IT project management. The project aimed to expand access to high-quality technology education, create new opportunities for people interested in information technology, and strengthen the potential of Georgia’s regions.
Coding School for 1,500 Women
From 2022 to 2024, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the “Coding School for 1,500 Women” project under USAID’s Industry-led Skills Development Programme. Selected beneficiaries received fully funded training in technology-focused English, specialised technology courses, a career bootcamp, and individual mentoring. Coding school laboratories were also established and equipped in the target municipalities, while the final stage of the project featured “Pitch Yourself” sessions connecting participants with industry representatives.
Empowering Ukrainian Refugee Women in Tech
With the support of UN Women and the Government of Japan, the Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the “Empowering Ukrainian Refugee Women in Tech” project. Over an eight-month period, 55 Ukrainian women living in Georgia received training in digital literacy, technology-focused English, software testing, and graphic design. The participants gained practical knowledge and experience, and the project concluded with the establishment of a community platform for Ukrainian women.
Women in Artificial Intelligence
The Business and Technology University (BTU) implemented the “Women in Artificial Intelligence” project under UN Women’s “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia” initiative, with funding from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). Through the project, 200 women selected from all regions of Georgia completed a fully funded, intensive nine-month training programme in web development and artificial intelligence. The initiative also included activities focused on career development, strengthening entrepreneurial skills, and supporting participants’ employment in the technology sector.
Mentoring Women in Tech Programmes
With the support and funding of the European Union and the involvement of Women Go Tech, the Business and Technology University (BTU) is implementing the “Mentoring Women in Tech Programmes” project. The initiative is designed to train 1,100 beneficiaries across three cohorts, with the participation of 320 mentors. Participants complete five-month training and mentoring programmes in Front-End Development, Cybersecurity, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, and UX/UI Design. The project also includes sessions focused on career development and strengthening entrepreneurial skills. The third and final cohort is currently underway.
iamtheCODE Foundation Chapter in Georgia
In partnership with technology activist Lady Mariéme Jamme, the Business and Technology University (BTU) launched the international iamtheCODE initiative in Georgia in 2025. The platform brings together more than 60,000 courses, video materials, and other learning resources available in 18 languages, providing fully funded access to 250,000 women, children, and young people living in Georgia. Of these beneficiaries, 50,000 have the opportunity to complete courses in artificial intelligence. The initiative aims to strengthen technological education and professional development among women, girls, and young people, while increasing their participation in technology and innovation.
Tech Women Community
In collaboration with UN Women, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, and D Block, the Business and Technology University (BTU) established the Tech Women Community in 2025. The initiative brings together women aged 18 and above living in Georgia and aims to strengthen their professional development, career growth, collaboration, and networking opportunities in the ICT sector. During 2025, nearly 250 women joined the community and participated in masterclasses, training sessions, and various events focused on technology, career development, leadership, and personal growth.
