Faculty of Business and Technologies
Business and Technology University (BTU) is one of the leading and most dynamically developing higher education institutions in Georgia, uniting business and technology disciplines within a modern educational ecosystem. The university’s mission is to prepare competitive, innovative, and highly adaptable professionals ready to thrive in a global environment transformed by artificial intelligence.
For many years, BTU has been implementing an institutional AI integration strategy, under which the BTU AI Lab research laboratory was established. Within this lab, students work on projects involving machine learning, big data analysis, and generative AI tools. In parallel, the BTUAI knowledge platform serves as a centralized hub, housing educational materials, training programs, and open-source resources on the practical application of AI, accessible to both students and lecturers.
All bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs incorporate “AI Literacy and Readiness” components. These cover AI ethics, safe and responsible usage, as well as practical fundamentals, including AI-assisted programming (Vibe Coding). A key focus in this process is the gradual creation of personal Digital Twins by the students themselves; they learn to program and manage these digital assistants, which are subsequently integrated into their daily learning processes and research activities. Upon completion, students receive the BTU AI Skills Passport-a digital, publicly verifiable certificate that serves as tangible proof of their AI competency.
To support the professional development of academic staff, the university has introduced a two-tier AI certification program. The basic level covers the fundamentals of using AI tools, creating personal AI assistants for the educational process, and ethical usage principles. The advanced level focuses on the transformation of instructional design and the implementation of modern, AI-driven teaching and assessment methodologies. This approach enables lecturers to develop custom Digital Twins tailored to their specific lecture courses and research interests, significantly enhancing the efficiency of their academic work.
BTU is also developing the AI Glossary, an open-access, Georgian-language academic terminological resource aimed at fostering the development of standardized professional terminology in the field of artificial intelligence.
Through these initiatives, BTU continues to solidify its position as a regional leader in artificial intelligence, expanding international collaborations and establishing high standards for the ethical, safe, and effective use of AI across all areas of teaching, research, and institutional development.
