For the first time in Georgia, an Extended Reality (XR) Learning Laboratory has been opened at the new campus of the Business and Technology University (BTU). The XR Lab was established in partnership with the Zwickau University of Applied Sciences and with the support of DAAD.
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the laboratory integrates virtual reality headsets, AI-powered educational materials, and virtual learning resources developed by leading German experts in the field. It serves as a space for bachelor’s and master’s level teaching, research, and innovative project development. The laboratory will be accessible to professors, students, and university partners.
This new and innovative teaching method, based on extended reality, provides an interactive learning experience, enables remote education, and allows the creation of modular virtual learning environments that adapt to specific academic subjects. Professors and researchers from the Zwickau University of Applied Sciences will also take part in sharing this expertise in Georgia.
Within the framework of the partnership between BTU, DAAD, and the Zwickau University of Applied Sciences, the university already offers a bachelor’s program in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Under this program, students can study in Germany for several semesters with full funding and receive dual diplomas from both universities. Professors from the German university are also actively involved in the teaching process.
