The Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub was established at BTU
The Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub was established at the Business and Technology University (BTU). The goal of the Hub is to form national teams for the world’s leading informatics olympiads, represent the country with distinction in the field of technology, and prepare and support team members to achieve the best olympiad results.
The Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub ensures the participation and preparation of national teams for the following international olympiads:
-
European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI)
-
European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI)
-
International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI)
-
Georgian Olympiad in Informatics for School Students (OLYINFO)
In addition, the Hub organizes preparatory camps for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and is involved in all processes necessary for the national team’s preparation before the competition.
Over the years, Georgia’s participation in the world’s leading olympiads has resulted in remarkable achievements — Georgian students have won gold, silver, and bronze medals, continued their studies at top-ranked universities worldwide, collaborated with leading technology companies, and founded successful startups.
The idea behind the creation of the Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub aims to fully realize this potential, encourage young people interested in the field, and create more opportunities for them — contributing to the development and global integration of the country’s technological ecosystem.
The general supporter of the project is TBC, which has been actively supporting education and technology development in Georgia for many years. Project partners include the UN Women Georgia, the ICT Association of Georgia, the development company BLOX, the American technology company LINEATE, and the global technology company EPAM.
In addition, under the organization of the Georgian Association of Artificial Intelligence, the National AI Olympiad is held annually, aiming to select Georgia’s national team for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. The olympiad is organized in partnership with the Business and Technology University and with TBC as the general supporter.
Georgia has been participating in various olympiads since 2000 and has already achieved significant results on the international stage — including 7 gold, 13 silver, and 43 bronze medals, as well as 2 honorable mentions at the International Olympiad in Informatics; 2 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics; and 2 gold, 4 silver, 20 bronze medals, and the title of absolute European champion at the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics.
Georgian students who have participated and won in these olympiads have achieved great success both locally and internationally. Today, they are students or employees/founders of leading technology companies and top universities around the world, including MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, Vanderbilt University, Rice University, New York University Abu Dhabi, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and others.
These olympiad participants now work at major global corporations such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, Dropbox, Palantir Technologies, Amazon, Facebook, Databricks, Waymo, and others. Their experience and achievements contribute to building a strong technological ecosystem, which the Georgian Tech Olympiads Hub at BTU will further enhance and elevate to a new level.
Registration for participation in the olympiads supported within the framework of the Hub is available at the following link.
