Business and Technology University is celebrating its 9th anniversary.
Business and Technology University (BTU) was founded in 2016 and today stands as one of the most in-demand, innovative, and highly ranked higher education institutions in Georgia.
Its achievements include innovative academic programs and projects, an extensive network of international partners, and unprecedented initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence. BTU is home to Georgia’s only Apple Authorized Training Center, advanced laboratories for Augmented Reality, Microsoft technologies, and other cutting-edge fields. The university holds international accreditations from organizations such as Amazon and ACCA, boasts the highest student and alumni employment rates, and maintains partnerships with leading global universities — including MIT, Harvard, and Oxford — as well as cooperation with the World Economic Forum.
Currently, BTU offers 12 accredited programs across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, with over 2,800 graduates, more than 100 exchange programs at Europe’s top universities, 500 partner organizations, and over 150 successfully implemented international projects.
In 2025, the university inaugurated a new, second campus — a state-of-the-art facility featuring expanded infrastructure, multifunctional spaces, modern laboratories, technologically equipped auditoriums, libraries, and multimedia environments. That same year, BTU launched a groundbreaking bachelor’s program – “Psychology in the Digital World”, enrolling its first cohort of students.
BTU became the first higher education institution in Georgia to integrate AI-based decision-making into both educational and administrative processes. The university developed HumanOS, an innovative technology that interprets human behavior through voice analysis. This product was created on the BTUAI platform, combining expertise in psychology, technology, and artificial intelligence.
Today, BTU is more than just an academic institution — it is a regional hub for innovation, technology, and digital transformation. The university has received numerous international recognitions, including the Emerging Europe Future-Proof Education Award (2021, 2023) for women’s empowerment initiatives, the UNESCO International Prize for large-scale AI literacy initiatives within the framework of the Decade of Science for Sustainable Development, and the PROFFORMANCE International Award. Through fully funded programs, BTU has trained more than 10,000 women, children, and adolescents across Georgia.
BTU is also a member and partner of more than 15 leading international associations, providing its students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external beneficiaries with full access to global academic and professional opportunities. These include the European University Association (EUA), EIT Digital (Europe’s largest digital innovation ecosystem), ARISA (AI Skills Alliance), the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance, the International European VR Network, the Check Point Cybersecurity Academy, and the European Marketing and Management Association (EUMMAS).
The university’s strategy focuses not only on introducing modern educational standards but also on contributing significantly to the development of Georgia’s digital economy and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem. BTU continues its rapid growth and transformation — establishing itself as the university of the future.
