September 13, 2025, 11:30 a.m., Expo Georgia, Pavilion XI (118 Tsereteli Ave.) – On September 13–14, the largest exhibition and sale of products created by local women entrepreneurs was held, organized at the initiative of UN Women and with the financial support of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and the European Union. This year marked the fourth time the exhibition center Expo Georgia hosted the event.
The exhibition was attended by Belen Sanz Luque, UN Women Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia; Nicolas Sendrowicz, Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia; Bergljot Hovland, Ambassador of Norway to Georgia; Alkis Vryenios Drakinos, Regional Director for the Caucasus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; as well as representatives of the private sector and business associations.
More than 200 women entrepreneurs presented their products at the exhibition. Visitors had the opportunity to explore and purchase items on site, including food, wine and other beverages, gifts, toys, accessories, handicrafts and décor, as well as beauty and personal care products. Among the participants were women entrepreneurs who had experienced gender-based violence, those living in high-mountain regions, and refugees from Ukraine. This year, the exhibition once again emphasized green products created by women through the use of recycled, eco-friendly materials and technologies. In parallel, entertainment and educational areas for children, as well as food and music spaces, were organized.
Within the framework of the exhibition, a panel discussion was also held, during which representatives of the banking sector reflected on the importance of financial inclusion in advancing women’s economic empowerment.
The event was organized by UN Women, with the support of NORAD and the European Union, and in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), TBC Bank, Crystal Microfinance, MBC Microfinance, the Georgian Farmers’ Association, Business and Technology University, and Expo Georgia.
The exhibition and sale of women entrepreneurs’ products was conducted under the women’s economic empowerment component of the UN Women project “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia”, funded by the Government of Norway.
